The Fleet Store - QUT Pop Up
The Fleet Store is an annual store run by QUT students and staff stocking fashion and art products created by QUT students. In 2016 a peer and myself project managed QUT Fleet Store, with guidance from QUT lecturer and designer of Easter Pearson, Lydia Pearson. My role involved managing a group of 30+ people, to organising the overall store launch and operation. This involved making all final decisions regarding: store operation, branding, promotional photoshoot (creatively directing, organising photographer, model, makeup), store fit-out and visual merchandising, selection of designers and products, staff hiring and rostering, product quality control, pricing and labelling, marketing and promotions, event management of store launch night, location scouting, budgeting, and store general management (staff management, stocktake). Additionally my designs were sold in the store.
Lulu and friends
- QUTopia Marketplace
In 2016, as part of a business assignment, I collaborated with 4 students from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) business school to create a business within the simulation world of QUTopia. QUTopia is a small simulation marketplace set up by the QUT business school for assessment purposes. To take advantage of my fashion design skills we chose to create a cutesy earring brand: LULU and friends. Three character brand ambassadors, LULU, LARA and LOLA were created as a marketing tactic to sell the unique lasercut earrings to the target market. LULU and friends utilised Facebook as the sole marketing strategy where pre-orders and customisations were available, process work was shown and competitions held. We had a following of 52 people (approximately 20% of the QUTopian market.) Over the two market days that LULU and friends sold stock, 125 pairs of earrings were sold and a profitability of 67.21% was made.
